The City of Chula Vista will celebrate its Centennial on Saturday, October 15, 2011. This citywide festival is admission free and is a special opportunity for local vendors to be involved. This historic party will be set on the scenic campus of the United States Olympic Training Center, Chula Vista (OTC). Organizers encourage the public to visit www.ChulaVista100.com and “Like” the Centennial Facebook page to receive the latest updates.
The Centennial Celebration will pay tribute to the city’s roots by featuring a Twist of Lemon Tasting where attendees will savor zesty dishes and desserts from over 30 local restaurants, wineries and breweries as they serve up samplings that include one key component — lemon. The Twist of Lemon Tasting area is open from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM to those 21 and up and tickets to the event are $30.
For Chula Vista, this is the party of the century, complete with a family-friendly carnival, London Olympic preview, live music and entertainment on two stages, craft beer and margarita garden, shopping opportunities and a fireworks finale that will light the night sky to welcome Chula Vista into the next century of growth and success.
